Shanghai Dimsum

There is a very chic and modern restaurant in Shanghai called “Lynn” where we enjoyed a shanghainese style dimsum. I will go into hiding when I get home, until I’ve shed all the weight put on from mass consumption.

Chrysanthemum tea, an herbal tea that will remedy many ailments including high blood pressure.

A traditional shanghainese soup with twisted sheets made out of tofu.
The delicious broth is flavoured with salted pork and fresh bamboo.

Rolled pork belly. Yummy!

Drunken chicken, which is chicken steeped in rice wine. Sooooooo good.

This is smoked salted duck eggs. Don’t let it scare you, I love it.
I’ve sampled a lot of dumplings on this trip – my mom’s are still the best.

Soup dumplings and vinegar.

The usual har gow and sui mai but fresh and pure without fillers.

Crispy fried rolls filled with daikon radish. I devoured three.

For dessert, salted duck egg custard in a steamed bun. Salty and sweet, weird but good.

Sorry, this is blurry, but I had to include it. It’s a chewy crepe filled with date purée. I had four pieces…absolutely delish!
